Find out who deleted you facebook

Finding out who unfriended you on Facebook can be difficult to figure out on your own since there is currently no official 'unfriend tracker' in place. With some Excel knowledge however, it is possible compare an older friends list with a current one and quickly deduce who is missing.

Part 1
Downloading Your Facebook Data

    Go to facebook.com. Log into your account if you aren't logged in automatically.

    Click the arrow icon. This is the downward pointing triangle located at the top right, next to the 'Privacy Shortcuts' icon.

    Click 'Settings'.

    Click 'Download a copy of your Facebook data'. This is at the bottom of the general account settings page.

    Click 'Start My Archive'.

    Enter your password.

    Wait for an email. You should soon receive the email ‘Your Facebook download is ready’ at your associated email address.

    Open the email.
  9. 9
    Click the link. This is at the bottom of the email.

    Click 'Download Archive'. Clicking this will download a folder titled 'Facebook*YourName*'.

Part 2
Creating an Excel/Google Sheets Friends List

    Open your downloaded Facebook folder.

    Open the html folder.

    Open the friends file.

    Highlight your friends list. Starting at the top of your friends list, click and drag your mouse down until you reach the bottom of the list.

    Copy your list. To copy, press Ctrl+C (PC) or  Cmd+C (Mac).

    Open Excel or Google Sheets.

    Click cell A1.

    Paste your list. To paste, press Ctrl+V (PC) or  Cmd+V (Mac).
    • If you are using Excel, save your file here as well.

Part 3
Comparing Friends Lists

    Download another friends list. Refer to part I.

    Copy your new friends list. Refer to part II here, specifically steps 1-5.

    Open Excel/Google Sheets.

    Click your friends list file.

    Click cell B1.

    Paste your new list. To paste, press Ctrl+V (PC) or  Cmd+V (Mac).

    Click cell C1.

    Enter =VLOOKUP(A1,B:B,1,FALSE). This is a vlookup function targeting cell A1, searching for your friend's name in all of column B, and only looking for exact matches.

    Click cell C1 again.

    Click and hold on the square icon. This is a small green square located at the bottom right of a highlighted cell.

    Drag your cursor down the column. Drag with your cursor down column C until there is a vlookup formula in column C for every name in column A.

    Look for #N/A values. A vlookup formula that returns an ‘#N/A’ value means that the associated friend's name in column A was not found in your new friends list.
