Instagram help center email

This teaches you how to contact Instagram via phone or email, as well as how to access various Instagram help resources if you're concerned about your account. Contacting Instagram does not guarantee a response, as whatever problem you're experiencing usually isn't viewed as a priority by Instagram. If you forgot your password, you'll need to reset your Instagram password yourself.

 1
Contacting Directly

  1. 1
Understand that you most likely won't receive a response.Instagram's phone line is largely a help resource rather than a method for getting into contact with an actual human being and contacting Instagram via email or social media doesn't guarantee that the message even will be read or responded to.[1]
    • Instagram has over 700 million global users, many of whom try to contact Instagram directly on a daily basis. This is why Instagram's "support" services are impersonal, and mostly based on self-help.
  2. 2
Visit the Instagram support site. Go to https://help.instagram.comin your web browser and click the topic on the left that most closely relates to the issue you want to contact Instagram about. If you need help with your account or the app, this is the best resource to use.
    • You can also type some keywords into the search bar at the top to quickly find the topic you're looking for.
  3. 3
Call Instagram. Dial (650) 543-4800 on your phone to call Facebook's helpline, then press 2 when prompted. This will bring up Instagram's automated support information line.
    • You will not be able to actually talk to an Instagram representative on the phone. If you need to reset your password or access your account, using Instagram's support website is faster and can provide more information to help you with your issue.
  4. 4
Send an email. Using your preferred email service, send to support@instagram.com an email listing your account name, the nature of your problem, and any other information that you consider pertinent.
    • The chances of you receiving an email back from Instagram are extremely low.
    • Keep your email concise, and make sure that you only list information that is necessary.
  5. 5
Try contacting Instagram on social media. It's a long shot, but very occasionally, Instagram will see and respond to inquiries on social media. You can use both Facebook and Twitter for this process:
    • Twitter - Go to the Instagram Twitter page, click Tweet to Instagram (or tap the Tweet feather icon), enter your tweet, and select Tweet.
    • Facebook - Go to the Instagram Facebook page, select the Message button, enter your message's details, and send the message.

Problem-Solving

  1. 1
Block abusive or irritating users. If you're constantly bothered by someone on Instagram, the easiest way to prevent them from harassing you is by blocking them.
    • You can also report the person from the Instagram Help Center if the person in question is illegally harassing or threatening users.
  2. 2
Change your password frequently. To avoid having your account hacked or compromised, change your password at least every six months.
  3. 3
Consider making your account private. You can make your Instagram account private—meaning that people who aren't currently following you can't view your content until you accept their follow request—from within the mobile app's settings:
    • Open Instagram
    • Tap the profile icon
      Image titled AndroidIGprofile.png
    • Tap the gear icon (iPhone) or  (Android).
    • Tap the "Private Account" switch.
    • Tap Yes if prompted.
  4. 4
Disable your Instagram account for a while. If there's controversy or undesirable behavior surrounding your account, it may be best to deactivate temporarily your Instagram account. You can reactivate the account at any time by signing back into it.
