How to check archived messages on iphone

At first glance, it may seem that all the archived email messages on your iPhone have disappeared because the Mail app does not have a dedicated Archive folder. However, you don’t have to worry that you have irretrievably lost your important archived messages from clients and employees. Instead of an Archive folder, the Mail app automatically transfers every archived message to your email account’s All Mail folder. After you find an archived message, you can transfer it back to its original folder or choose another folder.

Open the Mail app on your iPhone, and then navigate to the Mailboxes screen. For example, if you are in the All Inboxes screen, tap the "Mailboxes" button to open the Mailboxes screen.

Tap the name of the email account in the Accounts section that has the message that you want to retrieve.

Tap the "All Mail" folder to view a list of your messages for that account.

Select the archived message, and then tap the "Folder" icon.

Tap the folder that you want to transfer the archived message to, such as the Inbox. The message is instantly transferred to the selected folder.

Tips

• You need to set up your email account to archive messages before you can retrieve an archived email. Tap the "Settings" icon, select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars," and then select the email account. Tap the "Archive Messages" ON/OFF switch to "ON."
• Even if the Archive Messages feature is active on your iPhone, you can still send an email message to the Trash folder instead of automatically transferring it to the All Mail folder. Open the email message that you want to delete, and then tap and hold the "Archive" icon until a pop-up menu displays. Tap "Delete Message" to send the message to the Trash folder.
